SOLICIATION FOR CONCESSION CONTRACT FOR OPERATION OF GUIDED HORSEBACK RIDES FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON DESIGNATED TRAILS IN GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK.

- DESC: The National Park Service intends to issue a Prospectus for renewal of a concession contract to provide for guided horseback rides on designated trails in Grand Teton National Park. The term of the contract is for four years. Under the new contract, the concessioner will be limited to four 2-hour trips daily and two 4-hour trips. Each trip is limited to no more than 10 horses plus the wranglers' horses. No government-owned facilities or structures will be assigned in the park for the concessioner's use. No capital investment is required during the new contract. Any Offeror that is selected as the new concessioner is not obliged to purchase any personal property (equipment and merchandise and supplies) of the existing concessioner. The existing concession permit between the National Park Service and the existing concessioner expires by limitation of time on December 31, 2001. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that this is a qualified concession contract and, therefore, the existing concessioner is a preferred Offeror for this contract. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the Superintendent, Grand Teton National Park, no later than sixty (60) days after the date of publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract to provide guided horseback rides. EFFECTIVE DATE: The Prospectus will be issued for a 60 day response period under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposal due on November 2, 2001, no later than 4:00 p.m. There is a charge of $35 per copy for the Prospectus if you would like it mailed (Federal Express) or $30 with no mailing and you pick it up at the address below.
