Description

The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate a sole source acquisition with The Werres Corporation., 807A E. South St., Frederic, MD 21701 to provide Unarco replacement parts in order for an existing rack system to be complaint with safety regulations. Only Unarco replacements parts can be used to maintain rack rating load requirements. This acquisition is determined to be subject to Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) regarding the acquisition of commercial items and will also be conducted subject to Part 13 of the FAR regarding the application of simplified acquisition procedures. Interested parties that believe they have the ability to provide SSA with this required equipment can identify their capability to Luis F. Garcia, Contracting Officer, via e-mail at luis.f.garcia@ssa.gov . Responses must be received no later than 3: P.M. local prevailing time on Monday, September 10, 2001. The Government will consider all reponses but a determination by the Government not to compete this action is solely under the discretion of the Government. This is neither a request for quotation nor an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. If no viable responses are received by 3:pm local prevailing time on Monday September 10, 2001, the Government will issue a purchase order to The Warren Company.
