Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to procure services of a vendor to implement the Three Tragic Seconds drowning prevention program in up to two communities and to evaluate participant knowledge following implementation. The vendor shall provide the Project Officer with a draft and final research plan, recruitment and program materials, a report documenting the justification for and qualifications of enrolled sites, and a final report of findings including the evaluation report. Minimum Vendor Qualifications: Be a national non-profit organization with grassroots efforts primarily devoted to the health and safety of children; have prior experience and knowledge regarding childhood drowning prevention; have available in-house scientific and epidemiologic support, coalition-building staff, and media/communications staff; have access to local communities through injury prevention and advocacy coalitions with a broad range of involved stakeholders which will enable the enrollment of parents/caregivers of children under 5 years (the primary target for the prevention program and a difficult group to identify and reach); possess prior experience in scientific research, program management, and report writing, as well as experienced epidemiologic staff.
