Description

USDA, ARS, SAA intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Simplex Grinnell, for a security card access and CCTV system to be installed at the US Vegetable Laboratory, Charleston, SC. This system must be fully integrated with the fire and safety systems currently being installed. This system provides a seamless integration of fire alarm, card access and CCTV. SimplexGrinnell is the only provider of these low voltage systems and sprinkler services. The card access system must have an interface to the fire alarm system. Software and hardware interface must be provided. The fire alarm system must also be interfaced to the CCTV system. Since a SimplexGrinnell fire alarm and sprinkler has already been installed under the base construction contract for the new facility, it is of utmost importance that a card access, security and CCTV system be provided that is fully compatible and properly interfaces with the already installed system. Interested parties should submit written responses including prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the entire requirement and must be received in this office within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. It should be noted that no contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available. If no affirmative written responses are received, negotiations will be held with SimplexGrinnell without further notice. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is September 24, 2001.
