Description
ANALYTICAL EQUIPMENT, The U. S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Pittsburgh PA intends to award a purchase order on a sole-source bases to Micromeritics, Norcross GA to provide the following item which is to be delivered to DOE site in Morgantown WV. Micromertics ASAP 2010 Micropore Analyzer with One -Torr Transducer. This purchase order is being issued to Micromertics. because meets the following specifications: Dual Vacuum System : Must be equipped with two completely separate gas and vacuum systems: one for the preparation of samples (degas) and one for analysis. Cold Trap Protection of Vacuum Systems Both vacuum systems must be protected by a cold trap which will prevent oil vapors and contaminants from entering the manifold. Additionally, each vacuum pump must be equipped with an activated alumina vapor trap to prevent backstreaming of oil vapors into the vacuum systems. Isothermal Jackets for Constant Cold Zone in Sample Tube During any gas adsorption analysis, and particularly during long analyses, the region of the sample tube which is held at cryogenic temperature must remain absolutely constant. As the liquid cryogen level drops over time, compensation must be made to prevent a change in the cold zone in the sample tube. Single Transducer for Pressure Measurement Although multiple transducers are available), only one transducer will be used at any time. Sample Tube Seal Frits Unit must minimize sample contamination by exposed to atmosphere. Density Functional Theory -Density Functional Theory as applied to gas adsorption isotherms. Unit must have Windows based DFT PlusTM data reduction program which permits the characterization of pores from micropore to mesopore with one continuous method.. This request is considered to be a sole-source to Micromeritics. Therefore, no solicitation shall result from announcement procedure. Any firm believing that they can provide the required equipment may submit a written response clearly showing it's ability to provide the required equipment, which will be considered by this agency. Request for information should be addressed to Mr. Thomas J. Gruber, FAX 412.386.6137 or E-mail.
