- Description
- The acquisition is for drydocking and repair to the USCGC CHANDELEUR (WPB 1319) and the USCGC BARANOF (WPB 1318), both are 110 Foot ?B? Class Patrol Boats. The Government intends to utilize reverse auction procedures for this procurement. This is a competitive, anonymous, on-line auction in which participants will submit a series of quotes/bids that descend in price during a specified period of time. The performance period for the USCGC CHANDELEUR is scheduled for 42 days, commencing on or about 7 January 2001 . The performance period for the USCGC BARANOF is scheduled for 49 days, commencing on or about 18 February 2002. The scope of the acquisition is for the drydocking, overhauling, modifying, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard both cutters. Items may include welding repairs, inspect and renew skeg top plating in engine room, install structural reinforcements for potable water tanks, clean and inspect fuel and waste oil tanks, clean and inspect sewage and grey water collection and holding tanks, remove, inspect and reinstall propeller shafts, inspect bronze sleeves in various shaft packing areas, renew water lubricated propeller shaft bearings, remove and reinstall propellers, repair propeller root erosion, inspect MDE exhaust system, preserve transducer hull ring and renew the V850 depth indicating transducer, overhaul, renew and test valves, inspect and overhaul duplex sea strainers, renew through-deck packing glands, remove, inspect and reinstall rudders, overhaul stabilizing fins, preserve forepeak compartment, preserve bilge areas below fin stabilizers, preserve and disinfect water tanks, preserve sewage and grey water collection and holding tank, preserve underwater body, preserve freeboard, preserve aluminum mast, inspect and maintain cathodic protection system, renew capastic fairing, ultrasonic testing, provide temporary logistics, routine drydocking, renew forepeak compartment plating and framing, renew steering gear cooling water piping and hull penetration, renew shell plating and preserve sewage auxiliary space, renew deck covering, floating deck panels and isolation pads in the galley, renew noise damping tiles in aft-steering and battery compartments, repair CPO and aft berthing head, provide temporary messing and berthing. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advanced notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a $150.00 non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for the subject requirement. Plans and specifications will be issued on or about 02 FEB 2001.
