- Description
- The U.S. Department of Energy with the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Office of Nuclear Energy Science and Technology intends to contract for design and development services to support the Advanced Accelerator Application (AAA) Program, Commercial Light Water Reactor Program, and the Transportation and Material Management Program. The goal of the AAA program is to conduct research and develop, design, and construct a high power linear accelerator along with a sub-critical multiplier for studies on waste transmutation and other nuclear energy-related studies. The contract will require management of multiple work assignments. The specific NNSA projects include the Commercial Light Water Reactor (CLWR) Program Technical Analysis and the Transportation and Material Management Program Technical Analysis. The staff to support the programs will be located primarily at NNSA Headquarters (Washington, D.C.), with significant travel between NNSA Headquarters, Los Alamos National Laboratory (New Mexico), and Argonne National Laboratory (Chicago). Staff to support the CLWR will be located at both NNSA Headquarters and at the Savannah River site (South Carolina). Occasional travel to interface with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (Washington), Tennessee Valley Authority location, and project equipment suppliers will be required. The staff for the Transportation and Materials Management project will be located at NNSA-Washington, D.C. with occasional travel to other NNSA and DOE sites. The contractor staff will be required to have or be able to obtain a DOE "Q" clearance. A performance-based type contract is anticipated. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS Code is 54199 with a size standard of $5.0 Million.
