Description

SOURCES SOUGHT FOR H-53 ASSET EVALUATION MANAGER The Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia (NAVICP) provides worldwide material logistics support to over 3,600 Navy and Marine Corps aircraft. NAVICP has identified a unique opportunity to contract with an Asset Evaluation Manager. The scope of this initiative will encompass the evaluation of support inventory and possibly the sale of flight-worthy parts to the commercial market at a to be determined commission. NAVICP is issuing to industry a Request For Information (RFI). The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information from industry regarding the feasibility of this initiative, and to develop an acquisition strategy. The government will own all information provided by industry and reserves the right to use this information in conjunction with this and future endeavors. A draft Statement of Objectives (SOO) has been developed to outline the scope of this initiative. The SOO can be found at http://www.navicp.navy.mil/baa/baa.htm. The goal of the SOO is to initiate discussions and acquisition planning. NAVICP intends to host an Industry Day for contractors who have expressed a serious interest in this initiative. Thereafter, a formal Request For Proposal (RFP) will be issued if NAVICP determines to proceed with this initiative. Any resultant contract will be awarded based on best value. All interest in the H-53 Asset Evaluation Manager effort must be expressed in writing by the close of business September 21, 2001.
