17. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) anticipates a FIRM FIXED PRICE, INDEFINITE QUANTITY multiple award contract for the duplication of photographs and negatives of various sizes to be performed at two separate locations within NARA-Pacific Alaska Region -- (Anchorage)=3D (NARA-NRIA) located at 654 West Third Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99501-2145 and (Seattle)=3D NARA-NRIS located at 6125 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115-7999. The NAICS code for these requirements is 325992. For NARA-NRIA the following are the requirements. The photograghs and negatives range in size from 4"x5" through 8"x10" representing various record groups within NARA's holdings. Contractors are required to provide the following: (1) 1 B&W 4"x5" archival-quality negative of each print; (2) 1 B&W 8"x10" print of each negative (reference copy); (3) All negatives and all loose original prints to be sleeved in archival-quality holders; (4) All negatives produced and reference prints to be labeled with information on original item; and (5) All work except where specified is to be completed to the standards established by NARA and provided to contractors separately. Contractor(s) will provide all supervision, staff, supplies, materials, and equipment to produce the prints and negatives. For NARA-NRIS the following are the requirements. The contractor must duplicate a collection of original nitrate and acetate film negatives and glass plate negatives ranging in size from 4"x5" through 8"x10" within NARA's holdings. Each negative is a valuable and unique archival record. There are approximately 14,000 negatives 4"x5" or smaller, 4,400 negatives 5"x7", 100 negatives 8"x10", and 300 glass plate negatives range up to 4"x5" in size. Different-sized negatives are interfiled and the variation in the sizes is not predictable. The total number of images to be copied is approximate, based on NARA's best estimate. The negatives must be duplicated per NARA duplication specifications which will be provided with the solicitation. A solicitation will be posted to this website no later than August 31, 2001.
