Description
The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement is between $350,000 to $500,000. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees and the SIC is 3731. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the USCGC RESOLUTE (WMEC-620), a 210 foot vessel. The home pier of the vessel is 600 8th Ave, SE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701-5099. Work will be performed at the vessel?s home pier. The performance period will be 53 calendar days with a start date of February 25, 2002. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC RESOLUTE (WMEC-620). This work will include, but is not limited to: Stage and paint Mast, Clean Sewage/Turbid Tank, Renew Flight Deck Line Up Lights, Overhaul Vaneaxial Fans, Clean 4-84-1 & 2-F Fuel Tanks, Renew Helo Service Door, MDE/SSDG Exhaust Insulation, Renew 01 Air Castle WTD 01-58-2 & 01-59-1, Replacement of Fantail Hatch, Various Pipe Insulation , Galley Steam Kettle Pipe Renewal, Bulkhead Inspection of 1-63-1-Q Fan Space, A/C Raw Water Pipe Renewal, Open Clean, and Inspect all JP-5 Tanks, Control Air Mods, HPU Overhaul, Vent Cleaning Galley & Laundry. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail to wwwjsnyder@mlca.uscg.mil or by fax (757) 628-4676/75. In response please include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by Sept 13, 2001. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted in the CBD.=20
