Description
The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) solicits offers for award of contracts and/or agreements with companies and institutions that will accomplish the assessments, research, development, and technology transfer of the National Technology Alliance (NTA) for the five years spanning Government Fiscal Years 2002 through 2006. The Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) describes the NTA program and will guide offerors through preparation of their proposals. The BAA and additional information concerning the BAA is available on the NIMA web site at www.nima.mil/poc/contracts/baa.html#nta. The purpose of the NTA is to discover, initiate, and/or accelerate commercially available solutions to meet U.S. Government technology needs. The four technology areas described in the BAA are (1) Imagery and Motion Imagery Processing and Analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Cartography; (2) Processing, Analysis, and Management of Data, Information, and Knowledge; (3) Digital Technology Infrastructure; and (4) Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Defense. NIMA expects to make one or more awards valued at up to a total of approximately $58 million over each year of the five-year period. All pertinent information, including contact persons, evaluation criteria, and details on the specific technology areas are discussed in the BAA. All responsible sources capable of satisfying the Government's needs may submit a proposal for consideration by NIMA. Teaming among academic and industry partners is encouraged, and it is anticipated that such cooperative contributions will be complementary as well as essential to the success of research, development, and technology transfer for the NTA. Proposals must be submitted to the address stated in the BAA on or before 4:00 p.m., local time, Chantilly, VA, on Thursday, October 11, 2001. The BAA and other information about the BAA may be obtained from the Internet at the URL: http://www.nima.mil/poc/contracts/baa.html#nta.
