Description
The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, Florida intends to solicit competitive proposals for fabrication, testing, and production of a VHF/UHF LOS/UHF Satellite Communication (SATCOM) Antenna System (known hereafter as the Wideband, Mobile Maritime Antenna or Antenna System). The Wideband, Mobile Maritime Antenna System is for use with the AN/PSC-5D Multi-Band Multi-Mission Radio (MBMMR). The Wideband, Mobile Maritime Antenna System may be mounted on Naval Special Warfare surface craft and submersibles. The Frequency Band of the Wideband, Mobile Maritime Antenna System shall be 30-400 MHz. VHF/UHF LOS band shall be 30-400 MHz. The Antenna UHF SATCOM band shall be 225-400 MHz. The Wideband, Mobile Maritime Antenna System shall be capable of handling 40 watts (W) average power LOS AM/FM, (30-400 MHz) and 200 W average power FM/FSK/PSK, and SATCOM (225- 400MHz). The Wideband, Mobile Maritime Antenna System shall be capable of being transported underwater to a maximum depth of 225 fsw. The size and shape of the Antenna System, when transported underwater shall cause negligible adverse impact upon the hydrodynamics of the platform. The shape of the Antenna System shall create a minimal Radar Cross Section. The Antenna System may utilize an external, remote Control Unit, if tuning and/or switching are required. The Antenna System will be operated in either Simplex or Half-Duplex modes. Delivery will be to the Coastal Systems Station, 6703 West Highway 98, Panama City, Florida, 32407-7001. Required date for completion of the design and evaluation of the Antenna System is 2 May 2002. No telephone requests will be accepted. Anticipated contract type is a cost-plus-fixed-fee development contract. This is a full And open competiti ve best value requirement. Therefore, it s incumbent upon the potential offeror to be cognitive of the CSS Internet for all releases.
