Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase a Meta/Morph/Meta Fluor Imaging System from Universal Imaging Corporation, One Ridgewood Place, 402 Boot Road, Downingtown, PA 19335. The following components shall be included in the system: 1) MetaFluor/MetaMorph complete with all device drivers and optional dropins and the Hamamatsu acquisition option; 2) Hamamatsu ORCA ER 12 bit digital camera; 3) Sutter DG4 high-speed wavelength switcher w/ adapters for Zeiss Axiovert 200M microscope; 4) Prior 10 position emission filter wheel with adapters for Zeiss Axiovert 200M; 5) Prior X,Y motorized stage for Zeiss Axiovert 200M. Includes stage inserts for holding 1x3 microscope slide and a variable diameter petri dish holder; 6) 350 micron travel piezo high-speed focusing device for Zeiss Axiovert 200M; 7) AMD 1.1 GHz imaging workstation with 1.5 GB RAM, 40GB hard drive, 16x10x40 recordable CDROM, Matrox G450 dual output VGA card, 2930 SCSI card, 3COM 10/100 PCI network card, Internal 250MB ZIP drive, I/O card (for LPT2 and COM3), UPS battery backup, Windows NT and warranty; 8) Fluorescence filter sets: Fura2, BCECF, CFP/YFP, DAPI, FITC, TRITC, Cy5.The Institute intends to obtain the scientific equipment by other than full and open competition from Universal Imaging Corp., under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. To the best of the Government's knowledge, they are the sole manufacturer and distributor of this equipment, which fulfills the specified mandatory specifications. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all responses received before the closing date of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
