Description

The work to be performed under this solicitation consists of furnishing and delivering one of each of the following items, for a total quantity of nine: (1) One-piece seamless upper outer stationary nickel aluminum bronze wearing rings, 188-inch diameter; (2) One-piece seamless upper stationary nickel aluminum bronze wearing rings, 164-inch diameter; (3) One-piece seamless upper inner stationary nickel aluminum bronze wearing rings, 77.75-inch diameter; (4) One-piece seamless lower outer stationary nickel aluminum bronze wearing rings, 188-inch diameter; (5) One-piece seamless lower stationary nickel aluminum bronze wearing rings, 154-inch diameter; (6) One-piece seamless upper rotating nickel aluminum bronze wearing rings, 143-inch diameter; (7) One-piece seamless lower rotating nickel aluminum bronze wearing rings, 140-inch diameter; (8) One-piece seamless upper stationary stainless steel wearing rings, 150-inch diameter; and (9) One-piece seamless lower stationary stainless steel wearing rings, 147-inch diameter. The items are not required to be installed under these specifications. Government personnel will perform installation during the next regularly scheduled maintenance outage for these generators. The items are to be delivered f.o.b. destination to the Hoover Dam Central Warehouse, which is located on U.S. Highway 93 approximately seven miles northeast of Boulder City, Nevada, and 32 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada, in Clark County, Nevada. Provided that contract award is made by November 15, 2001, items 1 through 5 shall be delivered by March 15, 2002, and items 6 through 9 shall be delivered by October 1, 2002. This solicitation is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. For this acquisition, the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 333611 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. This acquisition will be pursued in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. We will issue a Request for Quotes (RFQ) in the form of a solicitation which will include a description of the work requirements, instructions to offerors, and required certifications. We estimate that we will issue the solicitation on or about September 14, 2001. Currently, we anticipate that the due date for quotes will be October 12, 2001, but an official date will be specified in the solicitation. You may place an order for the solicitation before it is issued, but no documents will be available until the solicitation is issued. There is no charge for one hard copy of the solicitation. You will receive a complete solicitation with the statement of work and drawings. The solicitation will also be available from our web site at no charge.
