Description

The Office of International Nuclear Safety and Cooperation, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), intends to issue a sole-source contract to the Amarillo National Resource Center, to execute an academic nuclear materials safety program in the former Soviet-Union. The proposed effort involves: (1) continue implementation and further enhance two Master of Science level nuclear safety academic programs at Moscow Engineering Physic Institute; (2) further develop and fully implement a third Master of Science level nuclear safety academic program at the Obninsk Institute for Nuclear Power Engineering; and support further enhancement, replication, and non proliferation of academic nuclear safety knowledge, skills, and technical understanding in support of the NNSA international nuclear safety objectives. The contract period of performance will be a twelve month base period, with two twelve month option periods. The Amarillo National Resource Center is the only firm with the required specialized knowledge, business arrangements, data, skills, and experience to perform this effort within the required time.
