Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS, Temple, TX intends to procure the MAGO Plus System"Automation Solution Program" from DiaMedix on a sole source basis for the period from date of award through 9/30/02 and four option years. The MAGO Plus is a flexible, automated immunoassay system for autoimmune and infectious diseases. The MAGO plus has the following salient characteristics: 1) The instrument must be capable of simultaneously running up to 9 assays on four 96 well plates simultaneously. The plates must be able to be incubated either at room temperature or 37C without manually manipulating the plates. 2) The instrument must have a dead volume of 4microliters of reagent or sample, 3) All cuvettes used in the performance of assays must be disposable, 4) a fixed probe capable of rinsing and pipetting without disposable tips must be included, 5) The instrument must visually be able to show the number of tests remaining, 6) Training must be accomplished within two days , 7) Service and applications support provided by the same company, 8)Proven record of machine and service reliability. Approximate issue/response date is 10/10/01. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quoatation which shall be considered. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document presently exists. However, all proposals received within forty five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested respondents should supply sufficient documentation to demonstrate their capability to meet the above salient characteristics no later than 10/10/01.
