Description

The recipient will be required to furnish all labor, travel, per diem, expendable materials, supplies and related expenses to conduct a study of beaver biology within the Tonto Creek Riparian Unit (TCRU) near Roosevelt Lake, Arizona. All tasks identified in the solicitation will be completed within three years of the award date, between the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the recipient/s. DESCRIPTION: The Bureau of Reclamation anticipates awarding an interagency agreement, contract, or a cooperative agreement. The purpose of this solicitation is to identify well qualified sources. Offerers should submitt proof of their qualifications no later than September 30, 2001. The basis for the proposal evaluation criteria will be as follows: A. The recipient must have experience implanting telemetry transmitters into mamals, preferably beavers. If not, then the reciepient must be able to provide a veterinarian or other researcher with such experience. B. Demonstrated ability to identify, measure and evaluate habitat variables that may be important to beavers. C. Demonstrated ability to determine home range, size and habitat use from radio telemetry data. D. The reciepient must have documented experience in Southwestern Riparian Habitats. E. Demonstrated ability to live trap beavers in the most efficient and humane way possible.
