Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation notice of intent for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NOI1011. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal acquisition Circular 97-27. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339111 and the small business size is 500. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure the Miltenyl Biotec autoMACS automated Magnetic Cell Separator Cat. #90-273 combined with the following components: 1 Column Starting Kit Cat. #130-021-102 (10 columns, 2 column substitutes, square key, 2 screw drivers); 1 Laminar Hood Set Cat. #130-090-333 (5x auto Macs feet, 1x tube rack elevation block); 1 Bottle Extension Kit Cat. #130-090-334 (4x Tube extension, color-coded, 3x fluid sensor cable extension); 1 Memory Card Cat. #130-090-392 and a 1 yr. Warranty. This system has the ability to isolate specific sub-populations of cells, bacteria, organelles, or virus from larger heterogeneous populations. These techniques can take up to 6-8 hrs. of work, the autoMACS will allow this procedure to be done in half the time and will be less expensive making the whole process more efficient than the presently used manual process. As protocols have been developed for the selection of specific cell populations using the Miltenyl Biotec reagents changing the brand of reagents and the system used would adversely affect the variables in these experiments. This would compromise the existing research. Delivery location is the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Bethesda, Md. 20892 and shall be inside delivery. This is a fixed-price contract and the FOB terms are "Destination". The FAR provisions and clauses that apply to this acquisition: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-4, Contractor Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders Commercial Items; FAR52.225-3, Buy American Act also applies.
