U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command (SBCCOM) and National Defense Industrial Association announce the Chemical Biological Defense Industrial Base Symposium "Challenges for Readiness and Sustainment" Embassy Suites Hotel- Little Rock, AR & Pine Bluff Arsenal, AR Event # 137D September 24-26, 2001 The theme for the this Symposium is "Chemical Biological Defense Industrial Base -- Challenges for Readiness and Sustainment." This theme captures the scope of the objectives to establish dialogue for government and industry to discuss Industrial Preparedness, Readiness and Sustainment for CB Defense, identify challenges for maintaining a viable CB industrial base in the future, and to promote avenues of Partnering opportunities with Industry. The Joint Service Materiel Group Process Manager for the Industrial Base, the SBCCOM Industrial Base Planning Office, and Pine Bluff Arsenal have planned a comprehensive program. This symposium agenda includes keynote addresses and presentations an overview of the industrial base processes, an OSD-level presentation on the North American Technology & Industrial Base Organization (NATIBO) highlighting its recent study on Biological Detection Systems Technologies, and several government/industry workshops to discuss and address critical IB issues related to CB Defense Systems and Chemical Demilitarization. Also featured is a tour of the Pine Bluff Arsenal production and demilitarization facilities.
