Description
:The Association of Old Crows, in cooperation with the Naval Air Systems Command (NASC), will sponsor a Joint Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (JSEAD) conference on 11-13 September 2001 at the Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland. The conference will be at the SECRET, U.S. ONLY classification level. It will include briefings, static display of aircraft, as well as tours of the anechoic chamber and other EW test facilities. The theme of the conference is "JSEAD -- Who has the Lead?" The keynote speaker for the conference will be General Richard B. Myers, USAF, Vice Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff. The co-chairs of the conference are VADM Joseph W. Dyer (COMNAVAIRSYSCOM) and VADM Dennis V. McGinn (OPNAV/N7). Session I will address requirements and include briefings from the services, as well as OSD and the Joint staff. Session II will be chaired by RDML John V. Chenevey (USN, PEO Strike Weapons and Unmanned Aviation) and will focus on Lethal SEAD and DEAD. Topics to be presented include: HTS/F-l6CJ Block 52; Quickbolt; and HARM Block IV. Session III will present a congressional perspective from Representative Joseph R. Pitts (R-PA); Electronic Warfare Working Group Structure by Ken Miller from Congressman Pitts' staff; JSEAD (The Public Record), Mr. Christopher Bolkcom, Congressional Research Service); GAO perspective by Chuck Ward; House Armed Services Committee EW Hearing Summary; and what the President's budget says about JSEAD. Session IV will focus on Non-Lethal SEAD and will be chaired by RDML James B. Godwin, III (PEO/Tactical Air Programs). Papers will include: EA-6B ICAP3; Compass Call; MALD; Aircraft Self Protect/SA; IDECM; Towed Decoys; PLAID; and Vivid Pointer. The final session will address Current and Future JSEAD Operations and will be chaired by CAPT Doug Swoish (Commodore of the Electronic Attack Wing, U.S. Pacific Fleet). Briefings include: JSEAD MTTP-ALSA (Multi-service TTP for ARM, JSEAD and IDM); JSEAD JT&E results by Col Westenhoff, USAF; NSAWC JSEAD Lessons Learned (results of the Lethal SEAD CONOPS test) by CDR Schneider and CINC Perspectives (PACOM, CENTCOM, SOCOM). Exhibits will include: F-18G (EW variant), airborne expendables, NAVAIR ranges and facilities (East and West coast), HARM Targeting System, Integrated Defensive ECM and Loitering EW Killer (LEWK) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD). Tours will include: Antenna and RCS Measurement Facility, Air Combat Environment Test and Evaluation Facility and Atlantic Test Range.
