- Description
- The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES), has the need for a small purchase procurement to produce a plan for a statistical analysis report on American Indian education using data from the 2000 Decennial Census. The work supported under this task is the development of specifications for the Census Bureau to run tabulation for the 2000 decennial census. It will also begin the preparation for the background textual, tabular and graphic material for an eventual report by the Department. The Department, OERI/NCES believes that only one offeror can bring the expertise on this subject necessary to successfully compete for this simplified acquisition. Dr. C. Mathew Snipp, a faculty member at Stanford University, is eminently qualified for this project. He served as an American Statistical Associate research fellow at the Census Bureau after the 1980 Census. Since that service he has maintained close ties with the Census Bureau and is currently on the American Indian and Alaskan Native Advisory Committee to the Census Bureau. Dr. Snipp is a respected researcher on rural demography and socioeconomic issues. He currently teaches both in the Sociology Department and in the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. Dr. Snipp is well respected in the American Indian community both for his expertise in statistics and as a member of the Choctaw/Cherokee Tribe. The billing agent for Dr. Snipp is Stanford University. All responsible sources that believe they can accomplish this work may submit capability statements to Thomas Hill, OERI, Capital Place, 555 New Jersey Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20208, Thomas.Hill@ed.gov, and Phone 202-219-2000 by 2:00 EST September 4, 2001.=20
