Description

The National Park Service (NPS) will be conducting a tour of concession facilities at Denali National Park for companies who are interested in competing for the principal park concession contract. The tour, on September 10, 2001, will be prior to the release of the business prospectus, scheduled for the winter of 2001-2002, so that interested parties can see the concession during the summer operating season. The business to be operated will include the visitor transportation system, bus tours, food service, gifts and merchandise, camper services, reservations, and support services for the Denali Science and Learning Center. This is primarily a summer seasonal operation with recent annual gross revenue of $13.1 million (2000), though some existing facilities such as the park hotel will close and not be included in the next contract. To provide a better understanding of the facilities and services in the next concession contract, Mr. Nick Hardigg, Concession Specialist in Denali National Park, will conduct an orientation and walking tour of the facilities on September 10, 2001.
