- Description
- The USA Robert Morris Acquisition Center-Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA, in support of the U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command, Soldier Systems Command, intends to conduct negotiations and award a purchase order to Perkin Elmer, 761 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06859 on the basis of other than full and open competition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302. A Firm Fixed Price purchase order is anticipated. The proposed action is for one (1) Perkin Elmer Mod el Lambda 900 UV/VIS/NIR Spectrophotometer and computer system for use with research and continued NIR testing. Minimum requirements for Spectrophotometer is: capable of measuring wavelength range from 175 nm 3300 nm; color measurement, large compartmen t size to accommodate face shields and sunglasses; and capable of measuring samples reflectance and transmission values. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of inte nt is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within ten days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based up on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Contractor manufactures a product with the uniq ue combination of measurable wavelength, color measurement and large sample compartment, which allows for the customized configuration of optics for a wide range of sample sizes and shapes. Additionally, the product has the ability to program multiple fix ed slit settings in the NIR. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, ATTN: AMSSB-ACN-S (James Kane), Natick, MA 01760-501 1 to be received no later than 4:00 PM 30 AUG 01.
