Description

The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Admin. (NOAA) has a requirement for 3-Liter volume flasks, electro-polished; each with two nupro SS-4H valves and diptube with bracket for support; 316L grade stainless steel (low carbon), lathe welding for minimum contamination, disc shape for strength. Dimensions must be 15.6" long by 4" diameter, valve length no longer than 2" to fit in our custom NOAA (CMDL standard mounting brackets. Delivery must be by September 20, 2001, to enable shipment to Moscow for a second Trans-Siberian Railway Expedition. The gases in these cylinders must not react with the interior of the cylinders or the welds for periods of up to decades. We must have flasks that have welds that have 100% penetration of the weld into the surrounding surfaces. It is the intent of the Government to award this procurement on a sole source basis under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) with Labcommerce, Inc., of San Jose, Ca. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000). This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement.
