Description

This solicitation is issued as an anticipated purchase of a Brand Name or Equal acquisition. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items and is prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation documents, incorporated provisions and clauses, are those in effect through FAC 97-26. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and no written solicitations will be issued. The solicitation number is 549-01-RFQ-192 and the NAICS code is 336360 (size 500 employees). The contracting activity, located at the VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS), 4500 S. Lancaster Road, Dallas, Tx. 75216, requires the procurement and installation of a Brand Name or Equal, (1) RICON S 5005 commercial wheelchair lift (ADA compliant), with a lift capacity of 800 lbs., which will also include a 32" platform width and 48" platform length. This wheelchair lift is to be installed on a 1994 T800 Vanhool Bus, serial number YE 2TA73 B1 R 2024816. Also to be installed, will be (5) Brand Name or Equal, FRIEDMAN, flip-down, fold-out, forward facing seats, in the wheelchair lift area for four wheelchairs with tie downs installed. All seats that will be removed, will be saved and stored in the storage compartments. The complete installation will be in accordance with Vanhool specifications, with the design of the body and shell to match uniformly with the exterior surface of the bus. The bathroom must remain intact after completion of the wheelchair lift installation. (Bodie doors are acceptable for the wheelchair lift door, however, other types must be submitted for approval). Offeror will submit seating and wheelchair print layout plans for approval by the VANTHCS representative, Tom McClure at 903-583-6308. The 1994 Vanhool bus will be picked up at the VANTHCS, 4500 S. Lancaster Road, Dallas, Tx. 75216, and returned to same location after the installation has been completed and inspected by VANTHCS representatives. Pricing to include all shipping charges (FOB Destination). This solicitation incorporates by reference FAR Clauses and Provisions, FAR 52.212-1, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, and addenda (52.214-21, 52.227-19, 52.233-2, 52.233-3, and 852.270-4).
