The below represents the conformed copy of CBD notice D-227 SN50V071 posted on 15 Aug 01 in association with proposed solicitation number N00140-01-R-N649. Revisions made include the correction of the NAICS and small business size standard.=20 The FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to acquire Maintenance and Janitorial services in support of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department and Operation/Management of the Bachelor Housing (BH) facilities at the Naval Training Center Great Lakes, IL. This procurement will be 100% set-aside for small businesses. The anticipated release date of the solicitation N00140-01-R-N649 is on or around 24 Sep 01. Subject services include but are not limited to check-in/check-out, booking/reservation, message and mail services at BH front desk, collection of fees in association with BH, housekeeping and janitorial services throughout the BH and MWR facilities, maintenance of BH and MWR equipment, general labor in support of MWR program activities and special events, and minor construction projects and maintenance and repair of MWR facilities. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated with a base period of one year and four one-year options. This solicitation is part of a multi-funct ion Government cost comparison to determine whether accomplishing the specified work under contract or by Government performance is more economical. If Government performance is determined to be more economical, this solicitation will be cancelled and no contract will be awarded. It is anticipated that a pre-proposal conference and site-visit will be conducted prior to solicitation closing; time and date are to be announced at a later date.
