- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to modify N00019-01-C-0074, a cost type contract, with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC). The proposed modification is to define the effort required for analysis and testing of the Environmental Control System (ECS) Growth Components, and for recommendations regarding ECS Growth Components to meet environmental requirements. Additionally, NAVAIR intends to incorporate additional Aircraft software functionality. As the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft weapon systems, only MDC has the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data required to successfully complete the engineering, analysis, and testing without causing unacceptable delays in meeting the Navy's operational requirements and without substantial duplication of effort to the Government. Furthermore, only MDC has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, expertise, facilities, and test equipment to provide the Government's minimum needs in a timely manner!! See Notes 22 and 26.
