Description

SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR A DIGITAL FREQUENCY DISCRIMINATOR (DFD). DESC: INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT WITH Comptek Amherst Systems, Inc. The Air Force, Edwards Air Force Base, CA intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to Comptek Amherst Systems, Inc., 30 Wilson Road, Buffalo, NY 14221. This Sole Source purchase will be for one specially configured Digital Frequency Discriminator (DFD) Part Number A9031-300006 with the following salient features: (0.5-2.0 GHZ instantaneous frequency measurement receiver possessing a range of ?65 to +5 DBM with a frequency accuracy of 1 MHZ). The Digital Frequency Discriminator (DFD) is uniquely manufactured and configured for use in the Electronic Combat Integrated Test program (ECIT). Due to the unique configuration of the Digital Frequency Discriminator (DFD), it is only available from this vendor. Due to the specialized design and configuration of the Digital Frequency Discriminator (DFD), the drawings or diagrams are proprietary, and are not available for viewing. This Sole Source award will be made to ensure that all items are compatible/interchangeable with the items already designed, developed and integrated into the RFEM subsystem. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the specially configured Digital Frequency Discriminator (DFD). Responses may be mailed to AFFTC/PKE, 5 South Wolfe Ave, Edwards AFB, CA 93524-1185, Attention: Philip W. Cheng. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. If no affirmative written responses have been received in the office by Close of Business (COB), 30 August 01, a Sole Source purchase order will be pursued with Comptek Amherst Systems, Inc.
