Description

The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, Florida intends to procure on a sole source basis upgrades to a existing Klein Model 5500 Sonar System from Klein Associates Inc, Salem NH, 03079. These upgrades include: 2 each transducers rated for 500 meter depth operations, telemetry upgrade to operate 1200 meters of tow cable, 1 ea IRIG B timing generator board, 1ea sonar pressure gauge rated to 500 meters. These upgrade units are being purchased from Klein Associates to insure compatibility with the existing Model 5500 and insure proper operations. The Klein Model 5500 sonar system design is proprietary to Klein Associates, and the components required to upgrade the system for operation at greater depth are also proprietary to Klein Associates.
