Description

Project will consist of silvicultural data collection requiring prospective examiners to have successfully completed a 2-year curriculum in forestry or silviculture. Examiners must have at least 6 months training/working experience in upland hardwood forests; assistance of a technical nature from nonqualified individuals may be used. Experience questionnaire should be submitted with offer. All project areas are accessible by State, County, or forest roads using standard pickup vehicles during normal operating season unless otherwise noted in the solicitation. Individual stands are accessible by foot. Work time is approximately 365 person/days, including weekend days and holidays. The prework conference may include a field phase and a technical familiarization phase to allow the Contractor to be acquainted with the practical application and mechanics of data collection. Prework conference may take several days and any costs incurred shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. All Contractor employees who will collect data should attend the field/technical phases of the conference; however, further training of the employee is the full responsibility of the Contractor. There will be six (6) Bid Items and the magnitude will range from 2,000 acres minimum to approximately 11,700 acres. Only one (1) compartment totaling 1,000 acres will be given to the Contractor at one time pending arrangements with the Contracting Officers Representative.
