Description

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract on a Sole Source basis to The Logical Company, 75 Gateway Boulevard, Cottage Grove, Oregon 97424 to provide three (3)PCI DRV11-WA controller cards, P/N DCI-1100-AB, with panel, interconnecting cable(s) and associated user manuals. The PCI DRV11-WA supports two external flat ribbon cable connectors, which are signal and pin compatible to a DRV11-WA. The performance for the PCI DRV11-WA controller is expected to meet or exceed a Qbus DRV11-WA controller. In addition, the contractor shall provide three (3) special built adapter cables, which will convert a MDB 50-pin connector configuration to a DRV11-WA 40-pin connector configuration. One adapter cable set is required per controller and consists of three flat ribbon cables. The contractor will be requested to develop and provide a new version of Vax emulation software that supports one or more PCI bus DRV11-WA controllers in order to replace NUWCDIVNPT's existing use of Qbus DRV11-WA controller(s). The contractor will also be requested to provide on-site support services, if required, to integrate the new version of Vax emulation software and PCI DRV11-WA controller card with NUWCDIVNPT's test set applications. The Government plans to issue a request for written quote to The Logical Company using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The anticipated award date is 21 Sep 01. This action is being processed on a Sole Source basis due to the fact that The Logical Company's PCI bus DRV11-WA controller cards coupled with their technical knowledge and expertise to develop a new version of Vax emulation software to interface both with their controller cards and the ATE was considered the best system meeting all Government minimum requirements. The Logical Company is the only manufacturer and distributor of these cards and possesses the technical knowledge required to meet software compatibility issues regarding these cards. Any Company that believes it has the capability to meet the Government's minimum requirements is invited to submit a quote for Government evaluation. All proposals from responsible sources will be considered. Telephone requests will not be honored. This acquisition is 100% Set Aside for Small Business.
