Description

Notice of intent to negotiate a Sole Source purchase order with NUS/Primedia Workplace Learning, 4101 International Parkway, Carrollton, TX, to provide software and licenses for Computer Based Training Modules (CBT) to provide training to technical personnel at the Albuquerque Operations Office and can be delivered via the local network (LAN). There are 51 modules required and include: Heating Systems, Boilers, Chemistry, Compressors, Diagrams, Electrical Equipment, Heat Exchangers, Instrumentation and Control, Piping and Auxiliaries, Plant Science, Pumps, Valves, Water Treatment, and Diagrams (Blueprints). The training modules are delivered to a student's desktop via the local area network (LAN), and permit centralized course management through the LAN. NUS/Primedia is the only vendor that uses a LAN to deliver training. The Department of Energy intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 6.302-1. NUS/ Primedia is the only vendor whose products include the automated support systems to test students, record the completion of courses, and generate reports essential to the administration of the CBT through the LAN. The recommended NAICS for this procurement is 611420, with a corresponding size of $5.0M. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all written proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government .
