Description

This is a pre-advertisement for the construction of a 9 mile long trail, Sawtooth Trail Construction. This pre-advertisement is so that you can visit the sight before the snow falls. The project will start in the Spring of 2002. Trail is staked on the ground. Parking areas are not staked but will be located at the beginning of the trail at 0+00(on the west side of the 06 road), at the intersection of the 06-06 road (on the west side of the 06 road) and where trail crosses the 06 road at 249+00 (on the east side of the 06 road). To access project take Highway 267, south of downtown Truckee, CA., approximately 0.4 miles. Turn right at the 7-11 on Palisades. Follow this approximately 0.4 miles to where this street turns into Ponderosa. Follow Ponderosa 0.4 miles to Silver Fir and take a right. Follow Silver Fir 0.4 miles to Thelin and turn left. Shortly after turning on Thelin, you will see Forest Service road 06 on your right. Take this .25 miles to the start of the trail on the right side of the road.
