- Description
- The USCG MLCP in Alameda, CA, proposes to contract for the combined Dockside Repair of the USCGC GALVESTON ISLAND and the CGC SASSAFRAS, which will be geographically restricted to the cutters' homeport at the Coast Guard Base at Victor Pier, Apra Harbor, Guam. The period of performance for the CGC GALVESTON ISLAND is 8 Jan to 15 Feb 2002 and for the CGC SASSAFRAS, 19 Feb to 12 Apr 2002. The repair anticipated involves the following work items: Production Control, Gantt Bar Chart; Temporary Services; for the CGC GALVESTON ISLAND: Underwater Body Diver Inspection; Clean and Inspect Tanks (MP Fuel Service, MP Fuel Stowage, Grey Water Holding Tank, Sewage Holding Tank, and Potable Water); Tachometers Calibration; Single Point Davit Inspect and Test; Underwater Hull Plating and Propeller Cleaning; Deck Coverings and Stiffener Renewal; and for the CGC SASSAFRAS: CPO Shower and Sickbay Deck Renewal; Hull and Structural Plating Repair; Masts Repair; Propulsion Shaft Thrust Bearing, Stern Seal, and Pedestal Bearing Overhaul; Drain Pipe Repair; Vent Ducts Repair; Vent Pipe Repair; Central Hydraulic System Modifications; Buoy and Cargo Handling Cranes Level 2 Inspect and Repair; Single Point Davit Level 2 Inspection and Overhaul; Potable Water Tank Preservation; Deck Covering (Interior Wet) Polymeric Reseal; and Chill Water Piping.=20 On or about 29 August 2001, a Request for Proposal will be issued in accordance with Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program (SBCDP).
