- Description
- The intention of this contract shall be to supply electrical shore power utilities for two floating yard cranes located between pier's # 32 and # 33 on the lower base section of SUBASE NEW LONDON. The contractor will be responsible for visiting the job sight verifying all measurements and providing submittals for the new transformer, utility enclosure and pin / sleeve male / female assembly. Marking and identifying of telephone lines shall be the responsibility of the contractor, all remaining utilities will be identified by SUBASE NEW LONDON. It will be required that soil coming out of the trench be put on poly and covered until it is used as backfill for the trench. The work includes the installation of a new transformer pad, a new concrete pre-cast pad mount transformer manhole and cover to accommodate a 500 kva transformer, and a new pad mount type transformer, 13,8 primary volt 3 phase / 440 volt 3 phase 4 wire secondary. Saw cut and excavate from the new transformer to each of the new crane shore power utility locations. Install rigid galvanized 4" conduit from the trench side of the roadway through the sheet pile along the under side of the quay wall to the new utility enclosure. Cord bore the concrete quay wall surface and stub conduit up inside the enclosure 4" above grade. Install new electrical utility enclosures. Pull in 3-#3/0 and 1- #3/0 ground from the 200 amp 3 pole breakers in the transformer panel board to each of the new utility enclosures. Test all cables before making up connections. Install new 200 amp 440 volt 4 wire pin / sleeve female receptacles in the new enclosures. The contractor shall supply one (1) shore power cable approximately 100' in length. The cable type shall be # 3/0 -4 THOF (or ) SO with a pin and sleeve 200 amp 440 volt male connector to match the new female outlet mounted in the utility enclosures. On the opposite end of the shore power cable the contractor is to install a government supplied pin and sleeve male plug that matches the existing female outlet plug mounted on the "large" floating crane. NOTE only ( 1 ) one cable required. The shore power cable for the smaller crane will be provided by others. The solicitation will be issued as a Small Business Set Aside and is subject to the HubZone Evaluation Preference contained in FAR 52.219-4. The estimated cost range is $25,000 to $50,000. The NAICS Code is 235310, Electrical Contractors. The small business standard is $11.5M. The solicitation will be available only on the internet at the address www.esol.navfac.navy.mil.
