Description

The National Institutes of Health has launched e-Portals in Commerce (e-PIC), its new Web-based source library that collects and maintains organizational information and enables showcasing of products and services. e-PIC is an e-business system designed to smartly capture the global marketplace and profile such information in a central and secure repository. The system is designed to function on a Web-platform and links users of the system conducting market research or seeking sources of supplies and services to this virtual marketplace. Organizational profile information, such as name, address, business description, etc., and pertinent North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) related information is input on-line, around the clock by registrants, who create, manage and secure their unique passwords and hyperlinked organizational information at no cost. The NIH Small Business Office, serving as the NIH e-PIC administrator, also will use this Web-based tool for a source repository instead of collecting similar information via the SF129 or through other types of marketing literature. All sizes and types of organizations are encouraged to register at http//epic.od.nih.gov.
