Description

The Center for Cancer Research, Metabolism Branch of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) seeks a contractor to provide an animal breeding and holding facility for mice. All necessary equipment, facilities and personnel shall be provided in order to maintain a breeding facility of up to 120 breeding pairs representing approximately 25 strains of mice and crosses between these; breed these according to instructions of the Project Officer and maintain their pedigrees; house up to approximately 3,600 Government?owned mice including offspring of breeding and other mice supplied by the Project Officer; inject mice and supply sera; passage ascites and supply ascites from tumors provided by the Project Officer; and transport mice between the colony and NIH as required. The contractor shall be located so as to be able to pick up and deliver mice, tissue, blood products and reagents within 30 minutes ground transportation travel time to the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. The NCI plans to award a single, firm-fixed priced indefinite delivery type contract. This acquisition is 100 % total small business set-aside. The period of performance will be for an initial contract period of 12 months plus four 12- month options. The anticipated solicitation issue date is approximately 7 days after publication of this notice, and quotes will be due approximately 15 days after the issue date.
