- Naval Aviation Depot, Cherry Point, NC, Code 6.4 is seeking information from potential sources regarding industry's technologies applicable to improving the NADEP's current process for document imaging, recognition, indexing and retrieval. NADEP Cherry Point is requesting comments on the Statement of Work, Basic Systems Information for system identified to meet the Government's requirement, and Rough Order Magnitude Cost Information from industry to implement a document imaging, recognition, indexing and retrieval system for NADEP Cherry Point in support of its initiative to automate the processes associated with the storage, maintenance and retrieval of repair documents. This document imaging system must allow NADEP Cherry Point to significantly improve retrieval times for repair documents. Please provide separate information on (1) Hardware and services for implementation of the system, and (2) Continuous Support after implementation of the system. The Government intends to reserve the right to split this requirement if it is deemed in the best interest of the Government. Industry comments and suggestions about the draft Statement of Work are welcome. Companies responding to this request should provide detailed information on their capabilities and experience to Christopher Murphy, Code 2.5.1.5.3.5, Bldg. 159, Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Aviation Depot, PSC Box 8021, Cherry Point, NC 28533-0021 at (252) 464-7031 or by e-mail MurphyCW2@Navair.Navy.mil. Respondents must clarify if their firm can currently provide items that meet the NADEP's needs. Proprietary information MUST be marked as such, on a page-by-page basis. This Request For Information (RFI) does not, in anyway constitute a Request For Proposal (RFP) and as such, is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice, nor otherwise pay for information / items solicited. Information / items solicited will not be returned. To be of maximum benefit to the program, responses must be received by 30 September, 2001.
