- Description
- The MassARRAY system shall include the following: a. Biflex array mass spectrometer for separation, detection and characterization of the analyte molecules from a miniaturized array; configured with a 10-chip MALDI target or better. b. 4 -- channel, v1.4, dispenser for nanoliter sample transfer from microliter plate to SpectroCHIP or better.=09 c. Automated 96 -- channel Multipipettor supporting both 96 and 384 format microplates or better. d. Data management and interpretation tools including Workstation (server hardware) and Oracle -- based allele calling software or equivalent. e. Installation within six weeks of receipt of a order for the Mass ARRAY System or equivalent . f. Access to scientific and engineering support staff as needed for extended lengths of time to provide training and guidance in terms of assay development and general operation of the System. g. 2 X 384 SpectroCHIPs 10-pack or equivalent. 2 The System shall be highly accurate to a level of 99% or better, to avoid the cost of repeat typing, or to increase the already large size of patient populations to be studied 3. The system shall use the method of combining a multiple base primer extension and a mass spectrometry method that measures allele-specific products on the basis of mass.=20 4. The system shall have a minimum throughput of 50,000 genotypes per day. 5. The system shall have available a database of validated Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP) assays that have been mapped to specific regions of the human genome. System shall have at least 20,000 SNPs genome-wide in the database at the present time, and have at least 100 validated SNPs in each of the following genomic regions: 1. D1S389 -- D1S204 2. D4S2410 -- D4S1576 3. D12S364 -- D12S1650 The National Institutes of Health intends to acquire the above stated Commercially available MassARRAY System on a Sole-Source basis.
