Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number N00164-01-Q-0297 is hereby issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The proposed contract is set-aside for small business concerns. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-22 and DCN 20001213. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332993. The Small Business size is 500. The following is a Sole-source to Black Hills Ammunition, 3050 Eglin Street, Rapid City, SD 57703. This requirement is for the following: CLIN 0001 40 cases of 5.56mm Subsonic cartridges for use in the SOPMOD Special Purpose Receiver (SPR) (18" barrel) muzzle velocity shall not exceed 1,100 FPS when fired between 40 degrees F and +125 Degrees F in the SPR fitted with a Knights Armament Co. M4QD Suppressor, one each SPR upper Receiver and one each M4QR suppressor will be supplied as GFE. Other sources other than the sole source will be required to pay for performance, safety, function and casualty testing. Delivery is required F.O.B. Crane, IN 47522 within 30 days after award. Delivery date is critical. Final inspection will be at NSWC Crane, IN. Quotes that are non-compliant with any material requirement of this solicitation may be rejected without further consideration for award. This will be a firm fixed price contract and will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The contractor shall extend to the Government the full coverage of commercial sale warranty provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the Government.
