Description

Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, supplies and equipment necessary to reduce hazardous fuels on a 32 acre mature ponderosa/Jeffrey pine stand, 300 acres of mostly ponderosa/Jeffrey pine plantation and an additional 28 acres of shaded fuel break on nearby forest roads. Undesirable and or surplus vegetation would be removed or reduced on the entire area (360 acres total) by a combination of mechanically cutting, chopping, masticating and/or chipping and harvesting the chips for removal from the site. Any merchantable logs from this operation would be decked and sold in a separate contract. The majority of the project area is nearly flat and has some slopes up to 15%. The Government will mark all area boundaries. The successful contractor will be required to harvest, remove, clip and haul surplus trees over four inches d.b.h. to an approved utilization center. The site of the work is Muck Valley, approximately 8 air miles Southwest of Bieber, California. A 4x4 vehicle may be required to access work areas. These services will be acquired under Part 12, Commercial Items, of the FAR.
