- NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Flir Infrared Imager System and equipment: Item 1 -- QTY -- 1 -- Flir Thermacam Infrared System [Model No. PM 695(1194900)] Item 2 -- QTY -- 1 -- Flir 5" LCD Color Monitor [Model No. 200053-2011] Item 3 -- QTY -- 2 -- Flir 695 Battery [Model No. 194067] Item 4 -- QTY -- 1 -- Flir Thermacam Reporter Software [Model No. 1194970] Item 5 -- QTY -- 1 -- Five Day Level II Thermography Training at the ITC Training Center Item 6 -- QTY -- 1 -- Flir Optional One Year Extended Thermacam PM 695 Warranty This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Flir Systems, Inc., 16 Esquire Road, North Billerica, MA 01862. GRC currently is using Flir System software and products and finds it necessary to maintain the integrity and continuity that presently exist within the Predictive Testing and Inspection Thermography Program. Flir System software is proprietary software and is the only software that will enable the opening, reading and modification of existing data that has been accumulated since 1995. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 20, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
