Description
This project will consist of bridge replacement and roadway obliteration on 0.320 km of roadway for Jim Camp Wash Bridge Replacement, in Petrified Forest National Park, Navajo County, State of Arizona. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $3,000,000. Principal work items: lumpsum contractor testing; bridge removal; 1,165 m3 roadway excavation; 75 m rail bank slope protection; 3,595 m2 aggregate-topsoil course, 150 mm depth; 1,620 metric tons minor crushed aggregate; 1,250 metric tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 435 m3 structural concrete class A; 42,340 kg epoxy coated reinforcing steel; 155 m drilled shafts, 750 mm; 24 each crosshole sonic logging; 99 m concrete guardwall; along with associated surveying, staking, seeding, heavy equipment operators and traffic control. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
