Description

The National Imagery and Mapping Agency anticipates execution of a 16 month sole source extension to the current IDIQ contract with EarthWatch Inc. of Longmont, CO, for the purchase of imagery. The contract, NMA30199D0003, currently expires on 30 September 2003. The modification executed pursuant to this notice will extend the contract period through 31 Jan 2005. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1. The extension is necessary in order to include priority access to the .61 meter resolution imagery to be collected by the Quickbird II satellite. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by 21 August 2001, 2:00 P.M. EST will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
