Description
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of FAR Part 13, intends to issue a sole source purchase order to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Science, Research, and Technology. The EPA is FACNET certified. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541620. The summary objective of this work is to update the review of the scientific literature regarding inter-individual variability in dose reconstruction from biomarker data for methylmercury (MeHg) and then apply the updated information to refine the quantitative estimate of variability to assist the EPA in the application of uncertainty factor adjustment in the derivation and updating of the Methymercury Reference Dose. The full text of the Statement of Work, "Assessment of inter-individual pharmacokinetic variability in the dose-reconstruction of methylmercury for use in reference dose derivation" will be available on the EPA website by COB 08/09/01. The proposed Simplified Acquisition action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All questions should be directed VIA E-MAIL to the Contract Specialist. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
