Description

Potential sources experienced in Float-In Construction sought to construct a sector gate complex. The project shall consist of the construction of a local graving site, a 276 foot by 100 foot float-in, pile supported gate bay monolith, the fabrication of two steel sector gates, and several pile-founded inverted T-type floodwalls. The graving site construction shall consist of the excavation of the graving pit and the construction of a pile-founded, cast-in-place concrete erection platform. The gate bay monoloth shall utilize precast and cast-in-place, conventionally reinforced and post-tensioned concrete components. The steel sector gates shall primarily consist of tubular sections. Estimated Cost: More than $10,000,000.00. This procurement will be solicited in Two Parts. Part One will require offerors to submit data regarding technical qualifications. All offerors meeting the technical qualifications in Part One will be allowed to go forward into Part Two and submit bids. The solicitation will result in a construction contract which will require performance and payment bonds. This will be a firm fixed price award based upon a responsible and responsive lowest bid. All contractors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database in order to be eligible for award. Plans and specifications will be available approximately by Spring 2002. There is no solicitation number assigned to this procurement yet.
