Description
A multiuse pulsed laser is required to characterize and calibrate a variety of electro optic detectors. The laser output wavelength, pulse width/type must be easily changeable (or readily available) depending upon the electro optic device under test. The highest priority of pulse shape and wavelength is a single pulse of 30 to70 Pico-seconds (30ps preferred, no hazardous chemicals) at 532nm, >50millijoules. The second highest priority pulse shape and wavelength is a pulse train of 10 pulses (30 to 70 Pico-seconds for each pulse) with each pulse separated by 5ns +/- 2ns at 532nm >500 millijoules. The third highest priority pulse shape and wavelength is a long (continuous) pulse >50ns at 532nm > 300 millijoules. The fourth highest priority of pulse shape and wavelength is a single pulse of 30 to70 Pico-seconds (30ps preferred, no hazardous chemicals) at 200 to 266nm, >10millijoules. The fifth highest priority pulse shape and wavelength is a pulse train of 10 pulses (30 to 70 Pico-seconds for each pulse) with each pulse separated by 5ns +/- 2ns at 200 to266nm >100 millijoules. The sixth highest priority pulse shape and wavelength is a long (continuous) pulse >50ns at 200 to 266nm >50 millijoules. The seventh highest priority of pulse shape and wavelength is a single pulse of 30 to70 Pico-seconds (30ps preferred, no hazardous chemicals) at 355nm, >20millijoules. The eighth highest priority pulse shape and wavelength is a pulse train of 10 pulses (30 to 70 Pico-seconds for each pulse) with each pulse separated by 5ns +/- 2ns at 355nm >200 millijoules. The ninth highest priority pulse shape and wavelength is a long (continuous) pulse >50ns at 355nm > 100 millijoules. The desired laser beam spatial and temporal profile is a top hat, with an ellipticity of 75% round. The nominal beam diameter is 5mm +/- 3mm and is 99% polarized with less than 1.5mrad divergence and <5% rms stability. The desired triggering scheme would allow for external and internal operation. For the external operation the laser should accept a TTL rising edge and the laser should output a laser beam. For internal operation, a TTL output shall be provided prior to the laser output. An optical monitoring point in the beam path is also desired to monitor energy, timing, and the laser beam profile. Interested parties should submit a brief synopsis of qualifications, including references, a list of past projects similar in scope and any other applicable information to Philip Carr via fax 702.295.2088 by August 15, 2001.
