- Description
- The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Plant Genetics Research Unit, Columbia, MO has the requirement for the purchase of Air Liquid Chromatography System for Protein Purification. This is a synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. 5114-1-3005 is a Request for Quotation issued on 7 August 2001. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. NAICS Code is 339111 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees applies to qualify as a small business. The solicitation is issued under full and open competition. Offerors are to propose prices for the following: 1 Each Amersham Pharmacia Biotech AKTA Explorer 100-Air Liquid Chromatography System for Protein Purification with FRAC-950 fraction collector, MicroSoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation- based, Pentium III personal computer for control, and UNICORN control software. Salient characteristics: Computer controlled biocompatible, high-performance liquid chromatography system for purification of proteins with a flow rate of 0.01-100 ml/min at pressures ranging from 0 to 10 MPa (0 to 1450 psi); a wavelength selection of 190 to 700 nm in steps of 1 nm; a conductivity range of 1 uS/cm-999.9 mS/cm; a pH range of 0 to 14 with + 0.1 pH unit accuracy, temperature compensated; and time-, volume-, or column-volume-based program control. The FRAC-950 fraction collector supports flow rates from 0.0001 to 20 ml/min. Size of 500 mm W x 480 mm D x 610 mm H, thus requiring minimal bench space. Installation and training to be provided by the Offeror. System must have a one-year warranty on all parts and service, and include spare parts needed for the first year of operation. Items to be quoted as brand name or equal. Offeros must provide descriptive data required by FAR Clause 52.211-6 with their offer to show that their products are the equal of the brand requested. Government required delivery date is 90 days.
