Description
Sources sought. Bechtel Nevada is seeking sources capable of providing a new Mine Hoist System for caging/skipping operations in a 20' diameter, 1000' deep, vertical shaft. The Mine Hoist System will be composed of a hoist, controls (programmable logic controls, operator controls, etc.), mechanical and electrical components, and a wire rope. The Mine Hoist System will be required to interface with an existing design for a head frame, shaft steel (including cage and skip compartments), cage and skip, shaft layout, Shaft Station layout, loading pocket, etc. The hoist will be a single drum, counterbalanced (overwind, underwind) type with a single layer rope winding (friction type hoist drive system is not acceptable). Caging and skipping operations will be performed between the surface and the Shaft Station/loading pocket only. Approximate vertical hoisting distance is 1000'. The cage will be in counterbalance with the skip. The cage will be approximately 7 tons in weight with a drive on payload capacity of 10 tons. The skip will be approximately 5 tons in weight with a 6 tons payload capacity and capability of 9 tons counterbalance weight. Hoist to be variable speed drive, ranging from 0 to 1000 feet per minute (normally 800 feet per minute), with a DC motor, drum or disk braking system, and mechanical and digital depth indicators. The rope will be 1 " diameter, non-rotating, with a minimum safety factor of 7 and a breaking strength of approximately 360,000 lbs. The programmable logic controls for the Mine Hoist System will be required to interface with the existing loading pocket/loading pocket controls. Controls to be located at the hoist house (manual and automatic), at the collar (pushbutton), and at the Shaft Station (pushbutton). Interested parties should provide a brief synopsis of product to Emma Fox by Fax, (702) 295-1702 no later than August 15, 2001.
