Description

17. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract modification to Contract N00024-00-C-2217 to Ingalls Shipbuilding Inc. (Ingalls), P.O. Box 149, Pascagoula, MS 39568-0149 to construct one Amphibious Assault Ship (LHD 8). This effort will also provide for spare and repair parts, crew familiarization and training, special studies and analyses, engineering and industrial services, and technical data. Ingalls is currently performing detail design and procurement of long lead time material for LHD 8 and as such is the only qualified source capable of producing LHD 8.
